The portal allows for the renewal, amendment, and transfer of arms licenses online across the province. The Home Department Punjab and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) also signed an MoU in this regard.

The Punjab Weapons License Online Application Portal 2024 was announced on February 6th, 2024, by the government of Punjab. The caretaker Punjab government, headed by CM Mohsin Naqvi, introduced the portal as a step towards eliminating corruption in the process of granting arms licenses and promoting transparency. The Provincial Home Department and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have collaborated to establish the Punjab Arms License Management System (PALMS) which was officially launched on the PALMS portal by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
