Eligibility Criteria

Open Merit Seats:

For Pakistani Students: A Pakistani student is someone who holds Pakistani nationality and has successfully completed their FSc/HSSC or equivalent education within Pakistan. All other candidates who do not meet this definition will be categorized as foreign students, which includes those with foreign nationalities.

a. All Pakistani citizens, including those from AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, are eligible to apply for admission at Army Medical College, Rawalpindi.

b. It is mandatory to pass the MDCAT (NUMS)-2024 exam, conducted on Sunday, 03 September 2024. The passing percentage for MDCAT (NUMS) is 55% for admission to the MBBS program and 50% for the BDS program.

c. Candidates must have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in FSc (Pre-Medical) or its equivalent, and they should have completed a minimum of twelve years of education, which should include at least three subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics.

Foreign Seats:

For Foreign Students: A foreign student is someone who possesses permanent foreign nationality or is a Pakistani citizen residing permanently in a foreign country. They should have completed their HSSC 12th-grade examination or an equivalent qualification from outside Pakistan and must be residing in a foreign country at the time of applying for admission. They should also possess a certificate confirming their foreign residency from the last attended institution.

a. The eligibility criteria for foreign candidates seeking admission at Army Medical College are the same as mentioned in paragraph 1 (c) above. In addition, foreign candidates need to provide MCAT (USA) or UCAT (UK) scores.

Note: There are certain special program seats exclusively reserved for foreign students and overseas Pakistanis. For these seats, the mandatory MDCAT requirement does not apply. Instead, students should qualify with a minimum of 50% marks in each subject in a foreign MCAT (USA) or UCAT (UK).

Merit Determination Weight-age Formula for Admission

a. Entrance Test (MDCAT (NUMS) 2024 / MCAT / UCAT), where applicable, carries a weight-age of 50%.

b. HSSC / F.Sc (Pre-Medical)/Equivalent accounts for 40% of the merit determination.

c. SSC / Matric/ Equivalent contributes 10% towards the overall merit calculation.
